Hi Jay, they offer special features and privileges: the users who subscribed before the launch are considered as founding partners of the project, and will have unlimited access to website contents and will become part of a readers club called Club Factual. They will also be invited to visit the newsroom during the first 100 days of the project.

I think, and from what i know about Arcadi Espada, the leader of the project, this payment will allow users to engage closely (closer) with the life of the newsroom. Espada is politically engaged, but does not have a specific party orientation, so his purpose is to create a relationship between the content and the readers, so i think subscribers will have more access to that than the one's who didn't subscribed "Factual". And most of the content - hard news - is open access. Only the long feature, specialized stories are behind walls. I just think that they could - and many should - have an option to buy a specific long feature article, even without being a subscriber.

Thanks for stopping by :)

This looks like a really cool idea. I like the redesign from a normal newspaper website, but — and this is where my lack of Spanish comes in — I don't understand who would pay for this. If it's just another news site, then that information can be gathered for free.
